Dear readers, what have we learned this week?

I started off with a post on Omar’s, the Cuban restaurant that I want to become my version of “Cheers.” It’s no going so well. It’s Saturday afternoon as I type this. And I dipped into the office to get some work done. I went to Omar’s for coffee and it’s like a completely different place. It was packed to the rafters and it took ten minutes for Omar to even notice me at the bar, sandwiched between people ordering pan con bistec. I got my large coffee. And he may have actually said, see you later. But I’m not sure. He could have been talking to someone else.

I’m devastated.

Lost, I tell you.

What the hell am I going to do without Domino Magazine?

I don’t watch television. I’ve never seen a complete episode of 24 or American Idol. I abhor reality shows of all kinds. I watch reruns of sitcoms and Yo Gabba Gabba with Tog. I don’t shop unless I have to. Don’t play a sport or participate in nothin’. What do I do?

Yup. You read right. In my InBox for the SecretSociety account, there are 13,437 emails. All exchanges between a tight-knit group of people over a period of years and years.

We argue. We fight. We curse each other out.

We support. We bond. We network. We cheer.

Email Overload

January 28, 2009

Good morning dear readers! (Okay, so it’s early afternoon. It’s been a rough morning…)

I’ve noticed that having my own office, away from the cluttered randomness of my home, has done wonders for my writing. And it’s made me want to streamline other parts of my life to make myself even more productive.

I keep my workspace relatively neat. I file things away immediately. I always make sure to tidy my desk before I leave at night so I can come into an inviting scene.

But there is one part of my work-life that is absolutely out of control.

An update…

Good morning my Dear Readers!

On Monday, I posted about my quest to find a place where everybody knows your name. And I talked about Omar’s, the Cuban restaurant that I want to be my special place.

I have an update. I was thinking maybe I should wait until my weekly wrap-up post. But I can’t. Must share now.
